match+report
Well a fast, crazy affair between two talented and passionate teams. Kick off was delayed somewhat due to the rain and both sides agreed to reduce the game down to 16overs. Frantic drying of the pitch commenced and battle duly started. HRG got off to a solid start and eventually reached 123 off 16 for the loss off 6 wickets. Mention in dispatches for the HRG batsmen Simon Reed who hit a 35 not out and Alex Singleton who made a good 26. Pick of the bunch with the Anite bowling attack was bowler Sukmi with a few nifty wickets.

The rain held off for the second half as Anite took to the field and play started with some heavy hitting from the Anite openers. A wicket duly fell bringing Mr Panda to the field and therefore afterwards much time was spent for the HRG fielders retrieving the sixes hit! A slight wobble in the Anite middle order gave HRG a slight sniff of the bar maids apron but that was soon quashed and Anite reached the victory target with roughly an over to go. A winning six was hit and Anite made 129 for 7.

Man of the match? Well there were so many heroics but for me the abiding image I have of the whole match actually happened outside the field of play. I'm sure Anite would agree here when I say that HRG fielder Aldir show courage and bravery in squaring up to a rather large bull in the neighbouring field on retrieval of the match ball. The speed in which the ball was returned to the field of play was outstanding!
